How to Send Monday.com Notifications to Microsoft Teams and Slack Simultaneously

Monday.com has a native Teams integration, but it routes to one destination at a time. For organizations running both Slack and Teams, here is how to fan monday.com updates to every platform from one automation.

How to Send Monday.com Notifications to Microsoft Teams and Slack Simultaneously

Monday.com and Teams — The One-Platform Problem

Monday.com does have a native Microsoft Teams integration. It is available through the monday.com App Marketplace, and it lets you post item status changes, due date reminders, and board updates to a Teams channel.

The limitation: like most native integrations, it routes to one destination. If you configure the monday.com Teams integration, Teams gets the notification. Slack does not. If you configure the monday.com Slack integration, Slack gets the notification. Teams does not.

For organizations where operations teams, project managers, and account executives all use different messaging platforms — a common state in post-merger environments or in organizations with a mix of technical and non-technical staff — this creates a visible gap. Project milestones land in one platform but not the other.

The Monday.com Automation Webhook

Monday.com's automation engine includes a "Send a webhook" action. This is the integration hook that allows routing through SyncRivo.

Create a monday.com automation rule with the trigger you want (e.g., "When item status changes to Done") and configure the action as "Send a webhook to URL." Point that URL to your SyncRivo inbound webhook endpoint. SyncRivo receives the monday.com payload and routes it to Slack, Teams, Webex, Google Chat, or Zoom — or any combination simultaneously.

Setup (10 minutes):

  1. In SyncRivo, connect your Slack workspace and Microsoft Teams tenant via OAuth.
  2. Create a Webhook source in SyncRivo. Copy the endpoint URL.
  3. In monday.com, go to a board → Automations → Custom automations. Create a rule with your trigger (status change, due date, item creation). Add a "Send a webhook" action. Paste your SyncRivo URL.
  4. In SyncRivo, configure routing: milestone completions to both Slack #ops-team and Teams #leadership simultaneously; overdue item alerts to Slack only for the team; executive summary updates to Teams only for leadership.

Routing for Cross-Functional Teams

Status changed to Done (milestone): Operations team in Slack sees completion. Executive leadership in Teams sees the same milestone notification. One monday.com automation, two audiences on two platforms.

Due date passed (overdue): Flag overdue items in Slack for the assigned team member. Optionally escalate to a Teams channel for the project manager — particularly valuable for items that have been overdue for more than 24 hours.

New item created (intake): Customer-facing teams often use monday.com as a lightweight CRM or request tracker. New requests created by sales (who may be in Teams) trigger notifications in Slack for the operations team handling fulfillment.

Item moved to a group (pipeline stage): For sales or account management boards, moving a deal to a new stage notifies the account team in their platform — Slack for the AE, Teams for the VP of Sales or executive sponsor.

The key advantage over maintaining two native integrations: when you add a new Teams channel or a new Slack workspace (e.g., during an acquisition), you update SyncRivo — not your monday.com automation rules.
